The incident, which unfolded on Lucille Avenue, left four people dead and at least ten others seriously injured, according to local officials.
Authorities confirmed that a total of 14 people were struck by gunfire, including both children and adults who had gathered for the birthday event. Four victims succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the hospital, while several others remain in critical condition.

Deputy Mayor Condemns the Attack
Stockton’s Deputy Mayor, Jason Lee, expressed his grief and outrage in a Facebook post shortly after the tragedy.
“My heart is extremely heavy today,” he wrote. “I am devastated and angry that a child’s birthday party in California has turned into the site of a mass shooting. Our community deserves to know the truth, and the families of the victims deserve justice and every possible support.”

SJCSO spokesperson Heather Brent stated during a press briefing that early findings suggest the attack may have been premeditated. “At this stage, our top priority is identifying the shooter,” Brent said.
